Dear "Angel",

You did the right thing by going to a clinic for a pregnancy test. However the nurse is correct in saying that you might not test positive if the pregnancy is very early. If you think your last period was not normal you should probably be tested again in 2 weeks. By then it should show up because it will have been 6 weeks from your last normal period. In the meantime you should not have intercourse or else be sure to use condoms, because if you are not pregnant you don't want to be taking chances! If the test is negative you should consider getting on a reliable method of birth control such as the pill. And always use condoms for disease protection.

Also, please consider confiding in your parents about what is going on in your life. Although they may be upset or disappointed at first, their concern for your health and well being will be more important, and they could be a big support for you.

Good luck, and let us know how you are doing.
